Progress on Dark Tales part 2 is coming along nicely. I started this story a while ago, and had a basic version pretty much completed, but then I had to take a break to work on another project for a few months. Anyway, when I got back to it, I decided I needed to make a few changes. I rushed through the original because, like the Jack and the Beanstalk story, it was just for practice.
As my style evolves and improves, I notice more things I should’ve done differently. The project that I was working on involved a lot of perspective, so when I came back to Red Riding hood, I decided to make the comic a little more 3D. Originally it was flat because it was a lot quicker, but playing with perspective these last few weeks, I’ve really started to enjoy it and thought it would make the story a little prettier.
I’m also thinking of funny little extras to add at the end of the stories. Like behind the scene stuff and some other fun things. But I also don’t want to take a billion years to release it.
I know a lot of people would prefer me to stick to my regular comics, and I do feel bad that I’m not posting more quick cartoons, but in the end, in order for me to grow and improve as a cartoonist, I need to try new things and challenge myself.
Anyway, that’s all for today. Don’t forget to check out and download Dark Fairy Tales Part 1 .
