So back when I was trying to get into the New Yorker I made this cartoon. It sat in the New Yorker pile for like 6 months before they sent me the rejection email. I loved this cartoon more than most of my family. Anyway, I decided to give up on trying to get into The New Yorker and just go back to having fun making cartoons.

Speaking of having fun making cartoons again, I’ll be carrying on with That ’90s comic. I’ll start posting them to the site soon.

I don’t remember the last time I cared about an upgrade on my phone. My last phone I upgraded because the battery died, but the phone itself was perfect. It was the iPhone X. I upgraded to the 13 and honestly can’t tell the difference. I’d still be using that phone if you could easily just replace the battery. Oh and the 13 was free because my Mom upgraded her phone and gave her old one to me.

Anyway, it’s probably the same shit with the Samsung and whatever the other phone makes are. Like what more does your phone need to do? I’d be so much happier if they spent more time on making the battery life last longer and not have the screen scratch so fricken easily. I don’t care if the new one can open Facebook 3 times faster and has a camera that can take photos you could print on paper the size of the moon.

But we keep on upgrading every year and it seems the only real reason is so we can tell people we have the latest phone.

Anyway, this was just a warmup drawing but it made me laugh so I thought I’d post it.

I had to design a talent show host dude. This wasn’t the guy that was chosen, but he was my favourite so I decided to make a cartoon with him. First thing that popped into my head was those Pop Idol, America’s got Talent things. I always hated those shows. I remember hearing more about the contestants personal lives than the actual talent. It was super annoying and never made sense to me. My ears don’t need to know how hard a musician had to struggle for me to enjoy a song. It doesn’t make the song better. So friggen weird to me how popular this stuff got. How people would like a song because, like, the singer has one arm or whatever. It’s bizarre.

Anyway, this made me laugh and it was fun drawing the dude.

I had Starbucks on the mind the last few days. On Friday we went to go watch some soccer, it was pretty chilly so decided to grab a quick cup of coffee. Starbucks was the nearest thing. Anyway, the price went up again, again. Like the coffee isn’t that special, we’ve put up with the price increases, but it’s gotten to where it’s stupid now. The service is shit, the coffee is not better than what I can make at home, and the price has gone up again. We ended up going to Greggs. They don’t have the best coffee or service either, but the coffee was like half the price. Starbucks isn’t double as good as Greggs so I can’t understand the pricing.

Anyway, Coffee and Starbucks on the brain, I drew this.

Sweet, have a good day.
